THE SOLDIER RETURNS…

On the 15th of August 1945 the country celebrated VJ Day bringing to an end the Second World War. In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of this historic day we have returned the soldier to the Causeway roundabout. Special thanks to Booth Engineering for strengthening Tommy to better withstand our unpredictable British weather!

The 75th anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan) will be recognised on 15 August 2020 commemorating the end of the Second World War by a a two-minute silence at 11am in the Town Square to remember the millions of people who died in the war. #VJ75#WW2#Commemoration#VJDay
