With cases of Covid-19 on the rise again, St. Nicholas church are looking for more volunteers who are willing to give up an hour or so each week to assist those in Arundel Parish who are in the higher risk groups and as such, need to self-isolate as much as possible. The project has been a tremendous success over the past months but we recognise that many of you who originally volunteered are no longer able to due to changes of circumstances.

Fiona Maxwell at St Nicholas Church manages the allocation of volunteers and Mark Phillips from Arundel Town Council has been recruiting and accumulating contact details before passing these onto Fiona. A number of local residents in the higher risk groups are still receiving support and assistance as they have been advised to remain as isolated as possible.

It’s getting harder to find new volunteers and it is clear that the infection rate of the virus is increasing quite substantially over the past weeks. It is likely we will have more residents requiring assistance with tasks such as food shopping, collecting medication, walking the dog or just as important for some, having someone to talk to at the end of a phone for reassurance and company.

If you can assist, please contact Mark direct at kiasu1960@gmail.com with your full name, your street, whether you have a DBS check and any particular skills/training you feel may be useful for Fiona to know when she allocates volunteers.
