You may have missed it in the run-up to Christmas, but Arun District Council are conducting a public consultation on a proposed increase in parking charges across the district. This began in late November and runs until 14th January.
As you will see https://www.arun.gov.uk/…/have-your-say-on-proposed-car… it is envisaged that Crown Yard parking costs will increase by 20p (£1.70-£1.90) for the first hour, by £0.40 for 2-hours (£1.40-£1.80) which represents an increase of 28%.
Concerns have been expressed that this will discourage people from shopping in the High Street and will result in more people looking for street parking spaces in Arundel’s conservation area.
