Support for victims of domestic abuse

Staying at home during the coronavirus is the right thing to do, but it may not feel safe for everyone. If you are being subjected to threats, violence or coercive or controlling behaviour within a relationship, help is available.

Parks, Public Spaces and Play Areas

The Government has outlined the importance of public parks and open spaces remaining open to the public, so please continue to enjoy these while following social distancing guidelines. Cemeteries also remain open. We’d like to remind residents that all the Council’s play areas, skate parks and outdoor gyms remain closed. Officers from Sussex Police are patrolling and may issue a £60 penalty to anyone seen using them.

Bonfires and BBQs

Please be considerate to your community and don’t light bonfires as the smoke can affect respiratory health. Let us know online if you have concerns about bonfires in your neighbourhood.

Feel free to enjoy a BBQ with members of your household only, but please be careful when lighting and tending your BBQ and ensure food is cooked thoroughly to avoid food poisoning.
