West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (WSFRS) has launched its Learning Zone, a series of educational resources on fire safety, for primary school children.

The resources have been designed to help families with educating their children from home during COVID-19 lockdown.

The key stage one and two resources range from colouring in to identifying hazards and risks around the home.

Angela Spencer-Smith, WSFRS Team Leader for Youth Projects & Education, Intervention & Prevention said, “A lot of us within the service are parents too and we know how difficult it is trying to keep children entertained and educated at home, especially if you’re still working.

“We’ve produced these resources to try and help families through this strange period, whilst educating them on fire safety. Having this kind of knowledge could keep children safer at home and we’ve tried to make them as fun as possible.”

Send pictures of what your little ones have created using the resources to the service via Facebook and Twitter using #LearningZone.

Many of the materials have been produced in partnership East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.
