A further update from the Environment Agency to affected residents:
Update for properties behind the original 93m flood defence design at River Road and Tarrant Wharf
The current situation at River Road has not changed since our update on 31 January. Works remain paused until we know the outcome of our request for additional funding. The processes involved in this request takes time but we want to reassure you that this is being treated urgently and we will keep you informed.
We appreciate your continued patience at this difficult time and will send you another update next week.
Resurfacing works near River Road Car Park
Our contractors will begin road resurfacing works outside River Road car park next week – likely taking place on Tuesday 11 February and Thursday 13 February.
From Monday 10 February there will be road signage in place indicating where some parking spaces will be coned off and unavailable during this time.
Pedestrian and vehicular access in River Road (close to the car park) is expected to be maintained for the majority of the works.
You may experience more disruption on Thursday 13 February with local diversions in place and short periods of time where access is restricted. Our contractors will be available should you need any assistance.
