National Highways will soon be carrying out surveys and investigations along the A27 Hammerpot Hill to help plan for future improvement work. They’ll carry out these works overnight when there is less traffic on the road.
The road will be closed westbound between the Clapham Interchange and Crossbush from Tuesday 3 May 2022 to Friday 27 May 2022 between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday only. A signed diversion route will be in place via the A280, A259 and A284.
For access to businesses and properties with direct access off the westbound A27 between Poling Street and Crossbush, please approach on the eastbound carriageway from Crossbush and use the crossover point at Poling Street to access your property.
To access businesses and properties on the westbound A27 between Arundel Road and Poling Street, including those accessed via Decoy Lane and on the Vinery Industrial Estate, you will be able to join the A27 westbound at the Arundel Road junction. This is for access only and there will be no through route, all other traffic should follow the diversion route.
These essential works may generate additional noise through the night, for which we apologise in advance. Access will be maintained for emergency services on blue light calls.
