Osbourne on behalf of Highways England will be carrying out the final phase of resurfacing to address carriageway defects on the A27 between Long Lane, Arundel to Crossbush Roundabout. During this phase of works, Osbourne will be resurfacing Crossbush Roundabout and its approaches as well as small sections of the A27 to the east of the roundabout. The works will include the resurfacing of defective areas, new road markings and studs and high friction surfacing on roundabout approaches.

In order to carry out these works as efficiently and safely as possible, work will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am utilising full carriageway closures between Monday 18 May 2020 to Friday 29 May 2020 from 8pm to 6am, weeknights only. Weekends may be considered as a contingency and the works are weather dependent.

Emergency vehicles will always be provided with access through the works.

Residents with access only from the A27 will be provided with escorted access from the manned closure points, though there may be a short wait whilst the works area in made safe.

During this phase traffic leaving the Crossbush Services will not be able to turn left towards the roundabout and will need to turn right to join the diversion at the junction of the A284 with the A259.

Diversions: Clearly signed diversions will be in place throughout the works.

Eastbound Diversion: Vehicles travelling eastbound will be diverted off at Fontwell West Roundabout onto the A29, Follow the A29, Nyton Road, Westergate Street, Lidsey Road to Shripney. At the roundabout take the 1st exit left on the A259, Felpham Relief Road. Continue on the A259 east to Angerming. Continue on the A259, Roundstone Bypass and at the 1st roundabout take the 1st turning left to join the A280 northbound to Clapham Interchange where vehicles can continue eastbound on the A27.

Westbound Diversion: Vehicles travelling westbound will follow the above diversion in reverse.
