A public meeting held to gauge interest for a Men’s Shed in Arundel attracted over 50 people!
In partnership with Arundel Football Club, Arundel Town Council is exploring setting up a local Men’s Shed – a friendly, welcoming space where men can meet, make things, share skills, and enjoy a chat.
Over 50 people attended the meeting on Wednesday 22 April at Arundel Football Club, to share ideas and network over a drink and a sausage roll from The Sausage Roll Kitchen, funded by the Town Council. Arundel Football Club have already provided generous support, not only providing the venue for the meeting, but also pledging ongoing support to develop a suitable building/space on their grounds!
Gerry Johnson, a Men’s Shed Ambassador from the Hayling Island Men’s Shed Association, was on hand to give an overview of his local ‘shed’ and field questions. The focus was very much on an Arundel Shed evolving to match the needs of its community and so everyone attending was encouraged to leave their contact details to be kept abreast of the next steps!
