Arun District Council is creating a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) to improve active travel safety and ease of movement in the district. This includes walking, cycling, and wheeling (wheelchairs, mobility scooters, pushchairs, or other non-motorised wheeled aids).

We are asking Arundel residents to complete this brief survey so Arun District can better understand the daily experiences and challenges they may have relating to walking, mobility assistance, cycling, and equestrian use, particularly in rural areas.

Some of you may already be aware of the draft Arundel LCWIP which sets out an Active Travel network within Arundel and connecting the town to other destinations.

The key route for Arundel is the Ford Road path to enable people to get to/from Ford Station safely. You can see the full details of the Arundel LCWIP on the Town Council website.

We urge you all to take part in this Arun District consultation to ensure that walking and cycling routes that are important for us are included in the new plans.

The feedback they receive through this survey will directly inform priorities for walking, wheeling and cycling across Arun.

The consultation runs from Monday 26 January to Sunday 15 March 2026.

Full information about the Arun LCWIP can be found on Arun District Council’s website
