Arundel Town Council are again supporting Home-Start: Arun, Worthing and Adur with the return of the ‘Reverse Father Christmas’ appeal. Arundel Museum have kindly offered to be a donation point this year, as well as the Town Hall and donations will also be gratefully received at the Town Council stall at the November Farmers Market and at Arundel’s Victorian Christmas event on Friday 5 December.

Bridget Richardson, CEO of the charity told us:

“…the people of Arundel have shown extraordinary kindness, ensuring families supported by Home-Start Arun, Worthing & Adur can enjoy a special Christmas through the much-loved Reverse Father Christmas campaign.

The idea is simple. Instead of Father Christmas giving gifts, the community gives him something to pass on. Thanks to donations coordinated by Arundel Town Council, families receive gift vouchers to choose their own Christmas meal, or toys for their children, and gifts for parents.

This support goes beyond the practical. Parents often tell us that being able to go into a shop, choose presents, and wrap them restores dignity and joy. One mum told us last year:
“It meant my children woke up on Christmas morning to the magic and excitement they’d been hoping for — without me worrying about how I’d afford it.”

That magic is possible because of the generosity of Arundel residents. It is community in action, neighbours supporting neighbours, and a shining example of the spirit that makes Arundel so special.”
