The Town Council is delighted that this year’s Festival of the Arts has got off to such a great start with so many well attended events and many traders reporting high numbers of visitors. Sadly, this year it has been impossible to ignore a small number of disgruntled constituents who have been promoting misinformation about the festival on various social media platforms. For absolute clarity, Arundel Festival of the Arts is funded by a mix of commercial sponsors, private donations, fundraising activity and is in receipt of a one off business development grant from Arun District Council. It has not been allocated any money this year from Arundel Town Council, although does receive some ‘benefit-in-kind’ in terms of some Councillors’ support.
We are therefore especially grateful to the team running the festival who have worked tirelessly, without fuss and on a wholly voluntary basis to bring so many talented artists and performers to the town.
