Overall scheme update and other activity in Arundel
Over the next week there will be minor activity continuing in parts of Arundel.
Welding works to finish the installation of the handrail will continue on the new Sheet Steel Piled (SSP) wall. Post construction and visual engineering inspections are currently scheduled to take place by boat on Wednesday 29 July.
Activity at the Mill Road car park compound will continue to remove materials and equipment that are no longer required following the completion of the major construction works.
It remains the case that our contractor may need to make adjustments to their programme of activities, sometimes at short notice.
Recently installed benches
We have listened to the feedback and concerns raised by members of the community regarding the location of the benches that were installed along the river bank at Fitzalan Road. As a result the project team have agreed that their placement was not suitable and we have decided that the best course of action is for the benches to be removed. We will review with our partners whether they can be re-used or relocated in Arundel.
